Instead, they’ve built their own efficient internal systems, combining Snowflake as a central data warehouse with Airtable as a user-friendly front-end. This approach allows them to sync data from tools like Rippling and Greenhouse into Snowflake, then push it to Airtable for teams to customize and analyze however they need.

By keeping Airtable as their single source of truth, Kunai gives every team the ability to access the data they need, when they need it. But when it came to syncing sales data, the hourly updates from Snowflake weren’t enough. Their sales team needed real-time CRM data to power downstream workflows for finance, recruiting, and other teams. That’s where Whalesync became indispensable.

Real-time CRM sync made simple

Kunai uses a sales CRM called Twenty, which they access directly through Postgres. Ruan’s team needed a way to sync this data into Airtable in real time. When they came across Whalesync in an Airtable forum, they decided to give it a try.

“At first, it seemed too good to be true,” Ruan said. “But when we tested it, it worked exactly as promised.”

Now, with Whalesync, Kunai seamlessly syncs their sales CRM data to Airtable. This allows downstream teams to rely on the most up-to-date sales data for everything from resourcing decisions to financial planning.

Ruan estimated this would have taken one to two months of engineering time to develop and required ongoing maintenance. “The time and effort we’ve saved is enormous,” Ruan said. “Not only would it have been costly, but a custom solution wouldn’t have given us the flexibility we have now to make updates quickly.”
